2021 Trends To Fall In Love With

After 2020 it is not entirely shocking that the trends for Spring focus on comfort and function. Pantone’s color’s of the year, Ultimate Grey and Illuminating, set the tone for us to ease into 2021 with positivity. As we continue to spend most of our time at home, working and living in the same space that we teach, study and sleep, the list of 2021 Spring trends isn’t entirely surprising. Here are a few of the top trends to fall in love with this year.

Indoor Plants

There are many reasons to incorporate indoor plants into your home decor. “Indoor plants enhance the overall appearance of a space, but they’ve been shown to boost moods, increase creativity, reduce stress, and eliminate air pollutants — making for a healthier, happier you.” – The Sill

Durable Fabrics

“Fabrics that are durable, wear well, and can be washed multiple times (linens and slipcovers, for instance) will be more important as we spend more time at home for work and learning.” — Holly Waterfield

Multipurpose Spaces

Between increasing property prices and lockdowns, homeowners and renters alike are seeking ways to create multipurpose spaces within their homes. “We all made our living spaces work for us last year, and many of our rooms served multiple purposes. We added workspaces to our living rooms, classrooms into our kitchens, and gyms to our bedrooms. This year, people will be finding ways to reimagine their homes and incorporate pieces that help restore balance to our multi-functional spaces.” — Etsy’s Dayna Isom Johnson

Dark Hues

Blush

Ultimate grey and illuminating (yellow) may be Pantone’s Colors of the Year. “We all made our living spaces work for us last year, and many of our rooms served multiple purposes. We added workspaces to our living rooms, classrooms into our kitchens, and gyms to our bedrooms. This year, people will be finding ways to reimagine their homes and incorporate pieces that help restore balance to our multi-functional spaces.” — Etsy’s Dayna Isom Johnsonlush has made a huge unexpected appearance as well. Many designers consider this trendy color a neutral and we can expect to see a lot more of it this season.
