Spring is just around the corner and we can practically smell the fresh flowers and feel the sun on our cheeks. With the new season comes the need for a refresh and Spring is one of our favorites. The Holiday decor has been stored away for weeks and the need for heavy weighted blankets and flannel sheets becomes less and less with each passing day. If you’re ready for a refresh and unsure of where to start, we’ve put together a list of 4 ways to freshen up your home for Spring that are very affordable or completely free.
Start with a Spring Cleaning
Deep cleaning and Spring refresh go hand in hand. We always like to encourage decluttering prior to deep cleaning and have a great guide for decluttering that you should absolutely read next if you haven’t already. Once you’ve decluttered, put on those rubber gloves and give your space some attention to detail! Clean rugs, especially high traffic areas. Wash windows. Dust ceiling fans. Clean out your refrigerator. You get the idea. The best way to start a Spring refresh is buy getting all the winter dust and grime out of the house. We promise, it’ll be worth it! And if you do not have the time or simply do not want to get your hands dirty.. you can always hire a professional.
Bring the Outdoors In
A simple bouquet of fresh florals from your local Trader Joes, or maybe florals from your own garden? Either way, bring the outdoors in! Create a new centerpiece on your dining table, add some new plants around the living spaces or maybe get that Fiddle Leaf Fig you’ve been drooling over. The opportunities are endless and there are even some fun subscriptions that send you monthly florals with guides to create the arrangements we all drool over on Pinterest.
Swap Out Textiles
One of my personal favorite ways to refresh for any season is to swap out linens and pillows. Strip the bed of the flannel linens and opt for a lighter option like these linen sheets from Boll & Branch. Replace decorative pillows with fun patterns or colors like these styles from Anthropologie. The options are endless with combinations of colors and patterns and they are all sure to brighten up your space. For more affordable options, we love Target and even Ikea! Your spring refresh does not have to break the bank.
Freshen Up The Front Porch
What better way to welcome the new season than with a new welcome mat? Maybe a fresh coat of paint on your door and some new potted plants for a finishing touch? There are so many ways you can update your front porch. Whether you simply have the time and budget for a dollar store DIY doormat or all new everything. A front porch refresh will not go unnoticed and will definitely make your home feel ready for Spring!
