From our experience of working with many homeowners throughout the years, we have learned when it comes to designing a kid, pre-teen, or a teen room, many people automatically think of bright colors or a theme. Although, personally, I am not a fan of heavily designing a room based on a theme, I do like vibrant rooms where the energy of the colors echoes the energy of the young dwellers in the rooms.
Recently, we designed a pre-teen girl’s room in all neutrals, where we took the chandelier as our point of inspiration. By layering and repeating our soft color palate of creams, whites, blues and greens colors, we were able to create a dreamy, peaceful, charming, and warm girl’s room.
When I was asked what I like about this room the most, the answer to this question was easy for me. I loved the perfect balance of the feminine feeling of this room mixed with a simple sophistication.
As always, for me, the best designs are the simple designs and this dreamy girl’s room is an example of this approach.
