Built in 1974, this Mercer Island home underwent a huge update prior to hitting the market. When preparing to sell a home, updates are often on the to-do list. What many do not see up front are the long term benefits and return on investment that updates can have on the sale of your home. In many cases, a fresh coat of paint and updated hardware or fixtures can make a an impact on the selling price of your home. You know the saying, a little goes a long way? That can definitely apply to homes that need a little refresh before listing for sale. However, in some cases, a much bigger renovation is really the key to listing and selling your home for the price you want.
Staging alone can increase your selling price and decrease your time on the market. So upgrading the home also is bound to have a positive impact on the length of time you’re on the market and the number of interested buyers. Let’s take a tour of this stunning Mercer Island home remodel and staging!
Living Room
A fresh coat of paint, floor treatment and upgraded light fixtures. We created a more functional furniture layout with contemporary pieces and the result was stunning.
Kitchen
Light and bright. The cabinets were refinished with white paint and the countertops and backsplash replaced with more up to date options. We brought in a fun barstool for some contrast and kept the rest of the space minimal with staging.
Recreation Room
A little paint and some updated furniture can go such a long way. The fireplace was also given a more contemporary makeover and we love how it transforms the space! This recreation room is so fun and cozy at the same time.
Master Bedroom
The flooring changes really had such a huge impact on the design throughout the home. We love the contrast of the dark wood flooring and the bright white walls in this master bedroom. The bathroom was kept neutral and bright with freshly painted cabinets, new countertops and tiles and upgraded fixtures and hardware.
Kids Bedrooms
These rooms received the same treatments as the rest of the home with updates to flooring, fixtures and fresh coats of paint. We love how they turned out!
The theme throughout the remodel was to update the home with neutrals that would appeal to many. This was achieved by staining the flooring and updating paint throughout. The kitchen and master bathroom underwent the biggest changes. Overall, the investment definitely paid off with this home listing for 2.4 million and selling for nearly 2.8. A stunning transformation with a huge ROI!
