We, residents of Seattle Metropolitan Area, are lucky in that we’ve so many mid-century houses. This Seward Park house, with views of Lake Washington, is an example of one these delightful Seattle mid-century homes.
Located at 5742 Hawthron South, this home has been thoughtfully remodeled and updated by the previous homeowners, and it was a pleasure for us, at Seattle Staged To Sell, to stage it. To emphasis the mid-century aspect of the house, we selected pieces from our authentic mid-century furniture and accessories collection.
Since mid-century homes are known for their large and low windows, actual furniture pieces from this period work the best in these homes. This is because all of the backs are low so they don’t obstruct the windows. This aspect was very important especially for this house, since it had beautiful views of Lake Washington as well as the stunning mature trees in Seward Park. In order to prevent taking away anything from the majestic views, we choose muted green colors as our accent colors. By doing this, we ensured that our design became one with the views of the house without overwhelming or competing with them. This end result is very important for mid-century homes, since these homes have relationship with their exteriors as well.
The listing agent wrote this following to describe this Seward Park home:
